A note from PlantMom

Arrowhead vine has moderate disease resistance but is more sensitive to humidity and excessive watering. It becomes more prone to disease when it gets too little light and is overwatered. Regarding care, the Arrowhead vine is drought-tolerant and can endure long periods without water. It needs little fertilizer and only occasional pruning. These characteristics make it suitable for people of all experience levels, especially those who prefer to spend less time on plant care or who may be away from home for extended stretches. It is a good option for anyone who does not want to invest a lot of time in caring for plants yet still desires an easy-to-maintain specimen.

CARE GUIDE

How to keep Syngonium Macrophyllum.

Light

Arrowhead vine comes from habitats with filtered light, such as forest understories or rocky locations that provide natural shade. It prefers partial sunlight but can also tolerate full sun.

Humidity

This plant needs special care because it loves high humidity levels of 60-80% or more. The best way to achieve this is by placing a humidifier near the plant. Daily misting is also essential! Make sure the room has good ventilation.

Temperature

Arrowhead vine does best in warm conditions and needs relatively high temperatures during the growing season to support growth and metabolism. It prefers plenty of sunlight, suitable moisture levels, and good air circulation. It can be damaged by temperatures that are too low and by overwatering. Therefore it's important to maintain a balance and avoid both excessively high temperatures and overly dry conditions.

Fertilizer

For an Arrowhead vine, light applications of fertilizer 1-2 times a year during the growing season are enough. Avoid fertilizing in winter and in summer when it is dormant. Cut back on fertilizer for repotted plants and wait a couple of months after repotting before you fertilize. Fertilizing helps maintain healthy growth and encourages blooms.

Pot & Repot

Repot the Arrowhead vine in spring or summer once it’s warm enough, choosing a slightly larger pot with good drainage. Water thoroughly after repotting and place it in bright, indirect light. Consider adding a moss pole for support as the plant grows.
