PRIVACY POLICY

A short, honest privacy policy.

Who we are

PlantMom (plantmom.app) is a reading and reference site about houseplants. We publish care guides, field notes, and a Sunday letter for subscribers. We are an independent editorial project. Contact: [email protected].

What we collect

Two things, both minimal:

  • Newsletter email address — only if you submit it to the subscribe form. We store it along with the date and a coarse source label (e.g. "home-footer").
  • Anonymous traffic analytics — via Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track individuals. We see counts of page visits, referrers, and rough geography (country-level).

We do not collect: accounts, passwords, names, phone numbers, payment data, precise location, or behavioral profiles. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or third-party ad networks.

Cookies

We do not set marketing or tracking cookies. Technical cookies may be used for internal editorial tools (not visible to public readers). Cloudflare may set security cookies (__cf_bm) to mitigate bots; these are not used for tracking.

How we use your email

  • To send the monthly newsletter.
  • To occasionally announce significant additions to the library.
  • Never to sell, rent, or share with advertisers.
  • Every email has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing is immediate.

Where data lives

On Cloudflare's global network (D1 database + Pages). We do not transfer your data outside Cloudflare for operational purposes. Cloudflare's privacy practices are described at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you may write to [email protected] to:

  • Access the data we hold on you (an email address, in practice).
  • Delete your email from our subscriber list.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Object to processing.

If you are in the EU / UK, the legal basis for newsletter processing is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). If you are in California, you have the rights described in the CCPA; we do not sell personal information.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will note it on this page and, if you are a subscriber, in the next newsletter.
