A note from PlantMom

Cape daisy is fairly disease-resistant and usually not prone to illnesses. Still, it can be affected by pests and diseases present in its environment. These problems are typically mild. For care, this plant requires moderate maintenance. Regular pruning is needed to keep it looking good and to support healthy growth. Fertilizing can also encourage flowering. Cape daisy is suitable for anyone with outdoor space, such as a garden or patio, and does not demand extensive gardening experience. It may need more attention when cultivated indoors.

CARE GUIDE

How to keep Osteospermum Jucundum.

Light

Cape daisy is a perennial herbaceous plant that favors sunny sites and comes from open habitats, frequently found in meadows and grasslands. It prefers full sun but can also tolerate partial sun.

Temperature

Cape daisy comes from tropical areas, where the climate is typically warm and humid. As a result, it is well suited to high temperatures and humidity. It does not tolerate sudden temperature changes and prefers a stable temperature environment, so it is important to avoid temperature fluctuations indoors. It usually cannot withstand cold temperatures and needs higher temperatures to grow. If the surrounding temperature drops too low, the plant may stop growing or even die.

Fertilizer

Appropriate fertilization is essential for Cape daisy health and appearance. Fertilize Cape daisy during the summer, repeating the treatment monthly throughout the season. Nutrients provide energy for growth and support the plant's parts. Fertilization improves the Cape daisy's flower display, helping it produce its best blooms.
