CARE GUIDE

How to keep Myoporum Bontioides.

Light

Bontia bontioides is native to well-lit areas like forest peripheries and sun-drenched fields, places that offer plenty of sunlight. It flourishes in Total Sun yet is able to withstand Partial Sun as well, showcasing its adaptability to diverse solar conditions.

Temperature

Bontia bontioides is native to tropical areas characterized by a consistently warm and moist climate. Consequently, it thrives in such high temperature and humid conditions. The plant doesn't cope well with abrupt changes in temperature, favoring instead a consistent thermal environment. Therefore, it's crucial to prevent indoor temperature swings. Generally, it's not tolerant of chilly temperatures and needs elevated temperatures to grow. Should the environment become excessively cold, the plant's growth may halt or it might even perish.

Fertilizer

The best period to apply fertilizer to a Bontia bontioides is early in the spring when it awakens from its dormant state. This stimulates overall plant growth and the formulation of blooms. The process of fertilization augments leaves, stems, and branches, and encourages the growth of large, vivid, and enduring flowers. It assists in the relocation of nutrients from the roots to the flowers and enhances the plant's wellbeing and its ability to resist diseases.
