A note from PlantMom

Redgal is resistant to disease and is generally not susceptible to illnesses. In terms of care, this plant is fairly low-maintenance. When grown outdoors, it needs only minimal watering, and larger plants typically do not require pruning. Smaller plants, however, should be pruned after they finish blooming. Redgalt is suitable for anyone with an outdoor area, such as a garden or deck, and does not demand extensive care experience.

CARE GUIDE

How to keep Morinda Royoc.

Light

Redgal occurs naturally in habitats like forest understories or rocky terrain, where it grows under natural shade. It prefers partial sun but can tolerate both full sun and full shade, showing its hardy, adaptable nature.

Temperature

Redgal comes from tropical areas, where the climate is generally warm and humid. Consequently, it is well suited to high heat and moisture. It does not tolerate abrupt shifts in temperature and favors a consistent thermal environment, so avoiding temperature swings indoors is important. It typically cannot withstand cold and needs warmer conditions to grow. If the surrounding temperature falls too far, the plant may stop growing or even perish.

Fertilizer

Fertilization is vital for Redgal's care. Regular feeding during the growing season helps maintain energy for its showy leaves and supports overall growth. Failing to fertilize can lead to unhealthy foliage, reduced ornamental appeal, and stunted or weak growth prone to breakage.

Pruning

Pruning redgal in early spring boosts growth and flowering. To encourage healthy development, trim any dead branches and thin out crowded areas to improve air circulation. Be careful not to over-prune, as this can cause stress to the plant. With regular care and timely pruning, you'll promote vibrant blooms and help prevent diseases in redgal.
