A NOTE OF INTEREST
Ipomoea purpurea, the common morning-glory, tall morning-glory, or purple morning glory, is a species in the genus Ipomoea, native to Mexico and Central America.
THE NAME
The Common Morning Glory is a plant from the Ipomoea genus, known for its beautiful and colorful trumpet-shaped flowers. These plants are sensitive to long, cold nights and typically bloom in the morning. After blooming for about two hours, the flower petals curl outwards, as if to greet the world with a cheerful "good morning." This charming behavior is why it is called the Common Morning Glory.
