A note from PlantMom

Narrow-leaf yerba santa is resistant to disease and typically not susceptible to illnesses. For care, this plant is fairly low-maintenance. Planted outdoors, it needs only light watering, and larger specimens usually don’t require pruning. Smaller plants, however, should be pruned after they finish blooming. CARE GUIDE

How to keep Eriodictyon Angustifolium.

Light

Narrow-leaf yerba santa is native to open habitats, such as sunny meadows and forest edges, where ample light is present. It does best in Full Sun but can also tolerate Partial Sun, adapting well to a range of sunlight conditions.

Temperature

Narrow-leaf yerba santa is highly adaptable to a variety of climate conditions, whether exposed to blazing summers or cold winters. Still, it has a preferred temperature range for growth. When temperatures rise too much, the plant can suffer from heat and humidity stress, which may kill it. In areas where temperatures approach the lower end of its cold tolerance, providing insulation to protect the plant is important.

Fertilizer

For Narrow-leaf yerba santa, timing is important when applying fertilizer. Apply it in early spring and then once a month until early summer. Fertilizer encourages attractive blooms and supplies energy during both dormant and active growth phases.

Pruning

Narrow-leaf yerba santa features aromatic leaves and delicate white flowers. To stimulate growth and maintain its shape, prune the plant in early spring. Remove any dead stems and thin out dense areas to improve air circulation, but avoid heavy pruning. This will promote healthier foliage and increase flowering, enhancing both the plant's appearance and vitality.
