A note from PlantMom

Smooth elephant's foot has strong resistance to disease and is generally unlikely to get sick. Still, it can be vulnerable to pests and illnesses that occur in its environment. Such infections are generally mild. Regarding upkeep, this plant needs a moderate level of care. It should be pruned regularly to preserve a neat appearance and encourage healthy growth. Applying fertilizer can also aid in boosting flowering. Smooth elephant's foot is well suited for anyone with outdoor areas like a garden or patio and does not demand extensive gardening experience. It may need more attention when cultivated indoors.

CARE GUIDE

How to keep Elephantopus Nudatus.

Light

Smooth elephant's foot is a sun-loving, perennial herbaceous plant native to open habitats, commonly found in meadows and grasslands. It prefers full sun but can also tolerate partial sun.

Temperature

Smooth elephant's foot comes from tropical areas, where the climate is generally warm and humid. Therefore it is adapted to high temperatures and humidity. It is sensitive to sudden temperature changes and prefers a steady temperature environment, so indoor temperature fluctuations should be avoided. It usually cannot tolerate cold and requires warmer conditions for growth. If the surrounding temperature falls too low, the plant may stop growing or even die.

Fertilizer

Smooth elephant's foot needs the most fertilizer during its active growth period, which falls mainly in spring, summer, and early fall. Fertilization supplies essential nutrients that the soil may lack, supporting healthy root and stem growth and producing attractive foliage, a prominent characteristic of this plant.
