A note from PlantMom

Peak rushrose has strong resistance to disease and is generally not susceptible to illnesses. In terms of care, this plant is fairly low-maintenance. When grown outdoors, it needs only minimal watering, and larger plants usually do not require pruning. However, smaller plants should be pruned after they have finished blooming. Peak rushroset is well suited to anyone with an outdoor area, such as a garden or deck, and does not demand much gardening experience.

CARE GUIDE

How to keep Crocanthemum Scoparium.

Light

Peak rushrose is native to open spaces like sun-drenched meadows and forest boundaries that offer plenty of light. It flourishes in full sun exposure but it can also endure partial sun, showing its good adaptability to different levels of sunlight.

Water

The peak rushrose is an evergreen plant that thrives in well-drained soils and is highly drought-tolerant. It requires watering only every 2 to 3 weeks. This plant is well-suited for outdoor environments, as it efficiently manages hydration throughout the seasons without the need for excessive watering. Its adaptation to less humid conditions makes it particularly resilient.

Temperature

The peak rushrose plant boasts impressive climate versatility, capable of surviving the extremes of hot summers and cold winters. Nonetheless, there is an ideal temperature range for its development. If temperatures climb too high, the plant becomes vulnerable to the damaging effects of heat and humidity, which can lead to its death. In areas where temperatures nearly reach its cold tolerance threshold, protective insulating steps should be taken to safeguard the plant.

Fertilizer

The scheduling of fertilization is key for Peak rushrose. Begin fertilizing in the early part of spring and continue on a monthly basis through to the beginning of summer. Fertilizer aids in the creation of beautiful blooms and supplies energy during both dormant and active stages of growth.

Pruning

Peak rushrose displays vibrant yellow flowers and benefits from early spring pruning. This practice helps remove dead branches and improves air circulation. To maintain its compact shape and prevent legginess, limit pruning to one-third of the plant's growth. This approach not only enhances the plant's aesthetic appeal but also supports healthy growth.
