CARE GUIDE

How to keep Berberis Pruinosa.

Water

During the first growing season, avoid watering the Yunnan barberry every day. Instead, water it only when the topsoil feels dry. Once the plant is established, it becomes drought-resistant and needs watering only during prolonged dry periods. When you water, use a hose to gently distribute water over the root system.

Pruning

Pruning Yunnan barberry has several benefits, including improved vigor and better air circulation. It is best to trim the plant in spring to protect it from frost damage. When pruning, be careful not to remove more than one-third of the canopy. Additionally, ensure that you use disinfected tools and wear gloves to prevent contamination while removing old or misshapen branches.
