Begonia Pustulata

Begonia pustulata is native to habitats such as forest understories or rocky areas, where it receives natural shade. It prefers partial sun but can tolerate full sun or full shade, demonstrating its versatility and hardiness.

Begonia pustulata comes from tropical areas, where the climate is generally warm and humid. Consequently, it is adapted to high temperatures and moisture. It does not tolerate sudden temperature swings and prefers a consistent thermal environment, so preventing indoor temperature fluctuations is important. It typically cannot withstand cold and needs higher temperatures to grow. If the surrounding temperature falls too low, the plant may stop growing or even die.

Begonia pustulata needs the most fertilizer during its active growth period, which takes place mainly in spring, summer, and early fall. Fertilization is needed to supply essential nutrients the soil may lack, encouraging healthy root and stem growth and attractive foliage, which is a key characteristic of this plant.

When repotting Begonia pustulata, select a pot 1–2 inches (2.5–5.1 cm) larger with ample drainage. Use a well-draining potting mix.
