Begonia cavaleriei, the Changgan Begonia, is a species of plant in the family Begoniaceae. It is endemic to China. It grows on limestone rocks.

CARE GUIDE

How to keep Begonia Cavaleriei.

Water

Begonia cavaleriei thrives in humid environments and needs regular watering to keep the soil moist. During the summer, it requires daily misting and should be watered whenever the soil feels dry. Make sure the pot has proper drainage to prevent waterlogged soil. In winter, as the plant's growth slows down, reduce the watering frequency to once every 3–4 weeks.

Pruning

To encourage new growth after flowering, promptly prune any withered flowers and leaves. At the end of the growing season, remove any branches that have not developed well. Tuberous begonias store nutrients in their bulbs after they have finished flowering. Pruning is most effective in the cool fall months, with an emphasis on targeting the apical buds and healthy shoots.
