ON THIS PLANT

Aloysia is a genus of flowering plants in the verbena family, Verbenaceae. They are known generally as beebrushes. They are native to the Americas, where they are distributed in temperate climates, as well as in subtropical and desert climates. The genus is named for Maria Luisa of Parma (1751-1819), wife of King Charles IV of Spain.

A note from PlantMom

Burro shows strong resistance to disease and is typically not susceptible to illnesses. Regarding upkeep, this plant is fairly low-maintenance. When grown outdoors, it needs minimal watering and larger plants usually do not require pruning. Smaller plants, however, should be pruned after they have bloomed. Burrot is suitable for anyone with an outdoor area, such as a garden or deck, and does not demand much care experience.

CARE GUIDE

How to keep Aloysia Polystachya.

Light

Burro comes from open habitats, such as sunny meadows and forest edges, that provide abundant light. It thrives in Full Sun but can also tolerate Partial Sun, adapting well to various sunlight conditions.

Temperature

Burro shows good temperature adaptability, tolerating higher heat and wide temperature fluctuations. In hot weather, care should be taken with watering and providing appropriate shade to avoid sunburn. On the other hand, Burro is relatively sensitive to cold. While it can handle some chill, very cold conditions can cause frost damage.

Fertilizer

The timing of fertilizing a Burro is important. Start feeding in early spring and continue monthly through early summer. Fertilizer promotes attractive blooms and supplies energy during both dormant and active growth periods.
