CARE GUIDE

How to keep Tillandsia Funckiana.

Temperature

Generally speaking, temperatures between 65 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit are optimum for your Sky Plant plant. Keep air plants away from drafts of heat or cold, especially if you live in a location with high weather. Your Tillandsia Ionantha needs 50% or more moderate-to-high humidity for vibrantly colored leaves and abundant growth. You can buy a humidifier and install it close to your plants if you're worried about the humidity or if you notice browning edges on the leaves of your plants.

Fertilizer

During the spring and summer, fertilize your Blushing Bride Air Plant every other week for optimum growth. No matter which type of fertilizer you choose—foliar, fish emulsion, or bromeliad—be sure to dilute excessively concentrated fertilizers. Most of the time, you can let this air plant alone without fertilizing it over the winter.

Pruning

When this plant reaches maturity, it easily spawns offshoots known as "pups." You can divide the plant by cutting off a pup when it reaches a size that is roughly half that of the mother plant. However, it's possible that these little Tillandsia ionantha plants aren't yet ready for mounting. Put them in indirect light while waiting and place them on top of the peat mixture.

Toxicity

None of the Tillandsia varieties, also known as air plants, are dangerous, according to the ASPCA. Dogs, cats, and rabbits as well as humans and other animals are not hazardous to air plants. If consumed, it won't hurt cats or dogs. The plant doesn't contain any components that are toxic to people.
