ON THIS PLANT
Satyrium carneum is a species of orchid endemic to the southwestern Western Cape. It is also known by the names pink satyr orchid, rooikappie, or rooitrewwa.
A note from PlantMom
Pink satyre typically has strong resistance to disease and is affected by relatively few insect pests. Its care is considered difficult because it needs high humidity combined with good ventilation and a low presence of harmful pathogens. Too much water can cause root rot. Although anyone can grow Pink satyre, keeping it healthy and getting it to flower again requires more growing experience.
