Rosa ecae is a species of flowering plant in the family Rosaceae, native to Central Asia (except Kazakhstan), Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the western Himalayas. A shrub reaching 120 cm (4 ft), it is very similar to Rosa xanthina. It is a probable parent of the hybrids 'Golden Chersonese' and 'Helen Knight'.
How to keep Rosa Ecae.
Water
Rosa ecae flourishes in soil that is both well-drained and moist, while avoiding water-logging conditions. During droughts, water lightly every 2 to 3 days, but reduce this frequency in the winter. Potted Rosa ecae plants require frequent watering during the growth period, making effective drainage management essential. Limit their exposure to direct sunlight, and after flowering, reduce watering while ensuring the soil remains moist but not overly saturated.
Pruning
Rosa ecae grows vigorously but requires regular pruning to stay healthy and prevent pest infestations and diseases. After the flowers have bloomed and faded, it’s important to remove them and thin out any overlapping branches. For vine varieties, maintain the main branches to a length of 2 to 3 meters. For bush varieties, prune them back to one-third of their height, keeping 4 to 6 thicker branches intact.
