CARE GUIDE

How to keep Raukaua Anomalus.

Light

Raukaua anomalus naturally occurs in habitats like forest understories or rocky areas, where it is exposed to natural shade. It prefers partial sun but can tolerate full sun or full shade, illustrating its versatile and hardy nature.

Water

Raukaua anomalus thrives in humid environments with consistent moisture, needing to be watered twice a week. Although it can withstand short dry spells, it requires good drainage to prevent root rot, particularly when grown indoors during its active growth periods.

Temperature

Raukaua anomalus is very adaptable to a variety of climates, tolerating both very hot summers and cold winters. Still, it prefers a specific temperature range for optimal growth. When temperatures become too high, the plant is susceptible to heat and humidity stress, which can lead to its death. In locations where temperatures approach the lower limit of its cold tolerance, providing insulation is important to protect the plant.

Fertilizer

Fertilize your Raukaua anomalus in early spring to encourage healthy growth. Regular feeding improves the plant’s overall health, leading to vigorous growth, increased toughness in challenging conditions, and enhanced resistance to pests and diseases. Keep to a consistent fertilization schedule for your Raukaua anomalus to maintain foliage that is richly colored and lush in appearance.

Pruning

Raukaua anomalus is known for its distinctive foliage and shrubby growth habit. To maintain its health and appearance, prune in early spring by removing dead branches and thinning out crowded areas. This will improve air circulation and help define its shape. Regular pruning encourages denser foliage and enhances the plant's vigor. Always use sharp tools to prevent disease and improve its aesthetic appeal.
