Psylliostachys suworowii is an annual plant commonly known as Russian Statice. Despite its common name, this plant is native to Central Asia. Other common names given to this plant include Pink Pokers and Rat-Tail Statice. These names were given because of the plant’s appearance. The leaves of the Russian Statice grow at the base of the plant in the form of a rosette. Narrow flower stalks emerge from the base of the plant, and the flowers that grow around the flower stalk are small but brightly colored.
