A note from PlantMom

Sharpleaf penstemon has good resistance to disease and is generally not prone to illness. Still, it can be affected by pests and diseases present in its environment. Such infections are generally mild. Regarding care, this plant requires moderate maintenance. It should be pruned regularly to preserve an attractive appearance and support healthy growth. Fertilizing can also help encourage flowering. Sharpleaf penstemon is suitable for anyone with outdoor space, like a garden or patio, and does not demand extensive experience in plant care. It may need more attention when cultivated indoors.

Fertilizer

A single spring application of fertilizer is generally enough for Sharpleaf penstemon, although multiple feedings can enhance growth. Fertilize once every month to a month and a half.
