Opuntia Salmiana

During the growing seasons of spring, summer, and fall, fertilize Opuntia salmiana monthly using a liquid fertilizer. There is no need to fertilize during the winter. When repotting, incorporate a slow-release fertilizer into the soil. Use a nitrogen-rich fertilizer during the seedling stage and a low-concentration phosphate-potassium fertilizer just before and after the blooming period. Be careful not to over-fertilize, as excess nutrients can lead to yellowing and slow growth.

Opuntia salmiana requires only minimal pruning. To encourage healthy growth, concentrate on removing withered flowers and branches. This helps in directing nutrients more effectively.
