A note from PlantMom

Mini angel's trumpet has good disease resistance and is generally not susceptible to illnesses. In terms of care, this plant is fairly low-maintenance. When grown outdoors, it needs little watering and larger specimens usually don't require pruning. However, smaller ones should be trimmed after they finish blooming. Mini angel's trumpet is suitable for anyone with outdoor space, such as a garden or a deck, and does not demand extensive plant-care experience.

CARE GUIDE

How to keep Iochroma Australe.

Light

Mini angel's trumpet is native to open habitats like sunny meadows and forest edges that offer plenty of light. It does best in full sun but can also tolerate partial sun, adapting well to different light conditions.

Humidity

This plant will thrive in moderate humidity, which is probably the level in your home. However, misting it a few times a week can be very beneficial. Make sure the room has good ventilation.

Temperature

Mini angel's trumpet adapts well to temperature, tolerating higher heat and wider temperature fluctuations. In hot conditions, you should monitor watering and provide suitable shading to avoid sunburn. Conversely, Mini angel's trumpet is less tolerant of cold. It can endure mild cold, but very low temperatures may cause frost damage.

Fertilizer

The timing of fertilization is important for Mini angel's trumpet. Apply fertilizer in early spring and continue once a month until early summer. Fertilizer encourages attractive blooms and supplies energy during both dormant and active growth periods.
