ON THIS PLANT

Iberis sempervirens, commonly known as evergreen candytuft, is a low-growing perennial plant belonging to the Brassicaceae family. Native to southern Europe and western Asia, this plant has been widely cultivated in gardens and landscapes around the world.

Typically, Iberis sempervirens grows up to 30 cm tall and spreads up to 60 cm wide. It features glossy, dark green leaves that remain evergreen in mild climates. The flowers are small and white or pinkish-white, with four petals arranged in a cross shape.

This plant blooms profusely from late spring through early summer and may occasionally rebloom later in the season if deadheaded regularly. While it prefers full sun, Iberis sempervirens can also tolerate partial shade.

Evergreen candytuft is an excellent choice for rock gardens, borders, or edging along paths and walkways due to its low-growing habit. Additionally, its nectar-rich flowers attract bees and butterflies.

In summary, Iberis sempervirens is an easy-to-grow perennial that adds beauty and interest to any garden setting with its attractive foliage and delicate blooms.
