A note from PlantMom

Swan river myrtle is highly resistant to disease and is generally not susceptible to illnesses. In terms of care, this plant is fairly low maintenance. When grown outdoors it needs only light watering, and larger plants typically do not require pruning. Smaller plants, however, should be pruned after they have finished blooming. Swan river myrtlet is suitable for anyone with an outdoor area, such as a garden or deck, and does not call for much experience in plant care.

CARE GUIDE

How to keep Hypocalymma Robustum.

Light

Swan river myrtle is native to open habitats, such as sunny meadows and forest edges, which supply abundant light. It flourishes in Full Sun but can also tolerate Partial Sun, showing good adaptability to various sunlight conditions.

Temperature

Swan River myrtle demonstrates good temperature adaptability, tolerating high heat and wide temperature fluctuations. During hot periods, it is important to manage watering and offer suitable shade to avoid sunburn. Conversely, it has relatively poor cold tolerance; although it can endure some chill, overly low temperatures can cause frost damage.

Fertilizer

Proper timing is essential when fertilizing Swan River myrtle. Apply fertilizer in early spring and continue monthly until early summer. The fertilizer encourages attractive blooms and supplies energy during both dormant and active growth phases.
