Hoya Micrantha

Hoya micrantha occurs naturally in habitats like forest understories or rocky areas, where it grows in natural shade. It prefers partial sun but can tolerate both full sun and full shade, demonstrating its adaptable, hardy nature.

Hoya micrantha comes from tropical areas, where the climate is generally warm and humid. As a result, it is adapted to high temperatures and humidity. It does not tolerate sudden temperature shifts and prefers a consistent temperature, so avoiding indoor temperature fluctuations is important. It typically cannot withstand cold and needs warmer conditions to grow. If the surrounding temperature falls too low, the plant may stop growing or even die.

Hoya micrantha needs the most fertilizer during its active growth period, which occurs primarily in spring, summer, and early fall. Fertilization is required to supply essential nutrients that may be missing from the soil, encouraging healthy root and stem development as well as the attractive foliage that is a key feature of this particular plant.

When repotting Hoya micrantha, select a pot 1-2 inches (2.5–5.1 cm) larger with good drainage. Use a well-draining potting mix. Repot in spring or fall, making sure the root ball is slightly lower than the rim of the pot. Water thoroughly after repotting and place in a warm spot with indirect sunlight.
