A note from PlantMom

How to keep Euphorbia Clandestina.

Light

Originating from arid regions, Volstruisnek does best in full sun; its native habitat has strong sunlight and very little shade. It can also tolerate partial sun, providing some flexibility in its growth.

Water

Native to semi-arid regions, volstruisnek is a drought-tolerant plant that thrives with minimal moisture. To prevent root rot, it should be watered sparingly, ideally once every three weeks. This plant prefers well-draining soil, which is essential for its healthy growth, and is commonly found in rocky terrains.

Temperature

Volstruisnek prospers in warm conditions and needs higher temperatures during the growing season to support growth and metabolism. It prefers abundant sunlight, proper moisture levels, and good air circulation. However, it is vulnerable to harm from very low temperatures and from overwatering. It is important to maintain a balance and to avoid both excessively high temperatures and overly dry conditions.

Fertilizer

For Volstruisnek, light applications of fertilizer once or twice a year during the growing season are sufficient. Do not fertilize in winter or in summer when the plant is dormant. Reduce the amount of fertilizer for plants that have been repotted and wait a couple of months after repotting before applying any fertilizer. Fertilizing helps maintain healthy growth and encourages blooming.

Pot & Repot

Repot your volstruisnek every 2-3 years during spring to help support its slow growth. Use well-draining soil and reduce watering after repotting. Make sure the plant receives bright light for optimal health, and choose a slightly larger pot to allow the bulbous base room to expand.
