ON THIS PLANT

Throughout the growing season, from mid-spring to mid-fall, a continuous display of small, lustrous red flowers blankets the succulent, evergreen foliage. This plant serves as a dazzling ground cover for slopes or borders. As a Plant Select® winner, it is exceptionally drought-tolerant and robust.

A note from PlantMom

How to keep Delosperma Dyeri.

Light

Native to arid regions, the Tarkastad Sheepfig does best in full sun, as its natural habitat features strong sunlight and very little shade. It will also tolerate partial sun, providing some flexibility in its growth.

Temperature

Tarkastad Sheepfig prefers warm conditions and requires higher temperatures during the growing season to support growth and metabolism. It benefits from plentiful sunlight, suitable moisture levels, and good ventilation. However, it is vulnerable to harm from very low temperatures and from being overwatered. It is also important to maintain balance and avoid excessively high temperatures and overly dry conditions.

Fertilizer

Tarkastad Sheepfig needs light applications of fertilizer once or twice a year during the growing season. Do not fertilize in winter or summer when it is dormant. Reduce fertilizer for repotted plants and wait a couple of months after repotting before feeding. Fertilizing supports healthy growth and encourages flowering.
