ON THIS PLANT

Cranichis muscosa, the cypress-knee helmet orchid, is a species of terrestrial orchid. It is widespread across most of the West Indies, extending into Central America, southern Mexico, Belize, northern South America, and southern Florida.

A note from PlantMom

The Cypress-knee helmet orchid generally shows good disease resistance and is affected by relatively few insect pests. Its care is regarded as difficult because it needs high humidity while also having good ventilation and minimal harmful pathogens. Too much watering can cause root rot. Although anyone can grow the Cypress-knee helmet orchid, preserving its health and getting it to bloom again requires more growing experience.
