A note from PlantMom

Cordia crenata is resistant to disease and, in general, is not likely to contract illnesses. As for maintenance, this plant is relatively easy to care for. Planted outdoors, it needs only minimal watering, and larger plants typically do not require pruning. Smaller plants, however, should be pruned after they finish blooming. Cordia crenatat is appropriate for anyone with an outdoor area, such as a garden or a deck, and does not demand much experience in plant care.
