Myriopteris intertexta, formerly Cheilanthes intertexta, is a species of lip fern known by the common name coastal lip fern. It is native to montane California and western Nevada, Oregon east of the Cascades, and with a disjunct population in central Utah. It grows in dry rocky habitats in sun, typically in rock cracks with little or no soil.
Coastal lip fern usually shows good resistance to disease and is affected by relatively few insect pests. Caring for Coastal lip fern is considered difficult because it needs a consistently moist environment and frequent watering. Its roots, however, can rot if it is overwatered or if the surroundings are not well ventilated. Coastal lip fern is best suited to people with some growing experience, since most people can keep it alive for some time. Nevertheless, it may struggle to thrive, and its leaves can dry out and become less healthy over time.

Light
Coastal lip fern comes from habitats such as forest understories and rocky regions, providing it with natural shade. It thrives best in Full Shade sunlight conditions, yet is able to withstand Partial Sun.
