Calliandra tweediei is a species of flowering plants of the genus Calliandra in the family Fabaceae. The plant is native to the Atlantic Forest ecoregion in southeastern Brazil.
The Mexican flame bush is highly disease-resistant and typically not susceptible to illnesses. In terms of care, this plant is fairly low-maintenance. When planted outdoors it needs only light watering, and larger specimens generally do not require pruning. Smaller plants, however, should be trimmed after they have finished blooming. The Mexican flame bush is suitable for anyone with an outdoor area, such as a garden or deck, and does not require a lot of gardening experience.
How to keep Calliandra Tweediei.
Light
Mexican flame bush is native to open areas, such as sunny meadows and forest margins, which receive abundant light. It prefers Full Sun but can also tolerate Partial Sun, adapting well to different sunlight conditions.
Temperature
Mexican flame bush is fairly adaptable to temperature, coping well with heat and wide temperature fluctuations. In hot weather, attention to watering and providing suitable shade is necessary to prevent sunburn. On the other hand, it has relatively poor tolerance to cold; although it can endure some low temperatures, very cold conditions may cause frost damage.
Fertilizer
Timing matters for fertilizing a Mexican flame bush. Apply fertilizer in early spring and continue once a month until early summer. The fertilizer encourages attractive blooms and supplies energy during both dormant periods and active growth.
