ON THIS PLANT

Anubias barteri is a West African species of Anubias, first described in 1860 by Heinrich Wilhelm Schott. It occurs in south-eastern Nigeria, Cameroon and on Bioko.

A note from PlantMom

Dwarf anubias has strong resistance to disease and is generally not prone to illness. However, it can be vulnerable to leaf spots if lighting and ventilation are poor and watering is excessive. The plant’s care level is considered easy, since it only needs regular watering and requires little else. Dwarf anubias is suitable for people who lack the time and energy to commit to frequent care.

How to keep Anubias Barteri.

Temperature

Dwarf anubias comes from tropical areas where the climate is usually warm and humid. Therefore, it is adapted to high temperatures and humidity. It does not tolerate abrupt temperature changes and prefers a consistent temperature, so avoiding indoor temperature fluctuations is important. It generally cannot withstand cold conditions and needs warmer temperatures to grow. If the ambient temperature falls too low, the plant may stop growing or even die.
